Last 12 Months

There's a feature on iPhoto that lets you select photos from the last 12 months, which never interested me until our second year in Scotland. Now, it's kind of fun to see what was going on a year ago (at least, in terms of the pictures we took). In particular, about a month ago (yes, that's how bad I am about posting), I noticed this picture at the top of this section.

A year ago (let's pretend I actually posted this in September), we had just met these people. We were doing "firsts" like the Pier Walk and going to Chapel, the kinds of things we might not repeat every year (or ever, thinking about that crazy wind!). That same weekend, a year later, almost every single person in that picture was over at our new flat for dinner. Some people were just visiting for the weekend (having moved to Edinburgh), some people were new to our group, and some people aren't in the country anymore...but it was more or less the group of people we had spent the same weekend with a year ago.

Sadly, I didn't realize it in time to recreate the group photo (there were far too many margaritas and delicious enchiladas for us to think about documenting) - but I stole this phone shot from Mandy, which pretty much sums up the night.


*Also, I should note that Matt was sick while this "party" was taking place - so there was no chance of documenting his presence in the bedroom. But since he was physically in the same building, we'll count him.
