Well, Chelsea already posted a picture of us above as we were about the head out to the 'Welly Ball,' so you can see us in our splendid dress - black tie/dress and wellies. There are quite a few events like this out here, but only the Welly Ball lets you wear such fantastic boots. This picture was taken after Chelsea and I got out of our puddle - we decided we needed a roommies picture! That is our flatmate James on the right.
Once we arrived at Kinkell Farm, where the ball was being held, we were greeted by a champagne reception and... bagpipes! Yes, bagpipes are quite common here. When the weather was warmer, it was fairly common to hear them being played in town. Though there are still folks busking these days, the bagpipers seem to have retreated.
For dinner we had hog roast with applesauce, potatoes, and veg (beans and carrots, I think). It was quite good, especially the roast. We ate properly - note the way we are holding our utensils.
There was quite a bit of wine at the ball. It also seemed to keep coming.
The table was decorated with shells, because the event is put on by the shooting club. I started building a tower of shells, because I like making things.
We had a great bit of fun at the Welly Ball. I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
I am pleased to see that you've learned the proper way to hold your cuttlery. People used to look at me wierd when I was a kid and did that.
