My advisor, David Martin-Jones, recently launched his new book, Scotland: Global Cinema. He had a launch party that coincided with St. Andrews Day, which is a Scottish holiday. He gave an excellent speech, which highlighted not just the 'global' aspects of Scottish cinema, but also the wealth of different topics writers tend to overlook by avoiding more mainstream Scottish productions. The BBC recently cited him on some of these issues in an article about Nessie.
