Things happened...

...And we've been busy! But here's a quick recap in pictures, because visual aids make even the most trivial events seem a little more interesting. Right?

So let's see...Matt has been hard at work on his research (please note the obligatory glass of wine while he works) and I've been getting started with two telecommuting jobs. One, which I'm very excited about, is tutoring writing with an organization called Smarthinking (and I get to work with Ian again!) and the other, less exciting, is working as an "Academic Coach" to promote successful completion of online courses at larger universities. But it's work, it's academic/teaching oriented, and I'm going to get paid!

There's also been cooking (surprise!)...

...delicious dinners in...

...our first dinner out (other than the infamous Pizza Connection)...

...and TACO NIGHT! We had a bunch of people over to partake in some Mexican goodness, and despite the difficulty/expense of getting certain ingredients (like refried beans, which I ended up making myself) it was pretty delicious.

Oh, and we got a basil plant and hung new curtains (thanks, Andrea!). The plant is probably going to die soon from cold or neglect (there isn't much of a green thumb in our household) so I wanted to post a picture of it before I steal all the leaves and have one good meal from it.

It seems like we don't do very much other than cook, eat, and work on our computers (which, to be honest, is how we spend a fair amount of time) but I promise that one of these days we'll post stories about the other things we've been up to. Hopefully, we'll get down to Edinburgh one of these days, go back to Dundee and the DCA, and head up to the Scottish countryside and Andrea's family farm! Stay tuned!

  1. Ashley and I are slowly killing out basil plant. They're surprisingly tough, but we'll get it soon enough, the little bastard.

  2. Great news about your jobs, Chelsea! Do you have the kitchen yourselves or do you cook and bring it to your room? Can't quite figure out the flat thing. Matthew, glad to see you're getting your Mexican!

  4. Nice Nice!! You're so far ahead of us-- curtians are but a distant dream! We basically just cook and eat and computer it up too, nothing wrong with that. Oooo and nice job making your own refried beans-- david and I made cheeesy beans recently and I thought fondly of you!

  5. The flat has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room/dining room, and a bathroom. So we usually eat in the living room/dining room.

And it was pizza dough that Chelsea made.
